Our Why
Thursday 15th JanMy son Logan is 7 years old and was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called BEHR syndrome in 2023. It is a metabolic neurodegenerative condition, which means it comes with a long list of complications that Logan lives with every single day.
Despite the vision loss, ataxia, loss of motor skills and abilities, he is still the most happy go lucky kid. He finds ways to laugh in every situation, pops wheelies in his wheelchair, is a professional hide and seeker who is genuinely impossible to find, and gives the absolute best hugs.
Logan goes about each day the way he wants to do it, which usually means doing it fast. Whether he is using his walkers at school, being pushed by his siblings in his chair, or riding his adapted bike, fast is always best.
Our steps this month are for Logan, and they are being done the Logan way. Whether it is a walker, a bike, a stroller, a wheelchair, or your own two feet, every step counts.
