The February Steps Challenge is a free, virtual step challenge happening throughout the month of February. Stroll whenever and wherever suits you. The steps you take and funds you raise helps fuel world–class research and life–changing care at SickKids.

This is a virtual challenge taking place February 1 – 28, 2026. You decide where, when, and how often to clock your steps. Join the February Steps Challenge Strava Club to track your progress and connect with fellow participants.
Absolutely! When you register, you’ll be asked if you’d like to create a team or join a team.
To create a team, simply choose a unique team name and set a team fundraising goal.
To join a team, search for the team’s name in the search bar and select it.
If you’ve already registered and want to join a team, search for the team’s name on the February Step Challenge website search bar and click “Join Us.” Once you confirm, you’re in!
To create a team after registering, go to your fundraising dashboard, select “Create a Team,” enter your team details, and click “Create a Team.”
You can track your steps manually or join our Strava Club to track your progress.
To track your steps manually, log into your account and from your dashboard select “My Fitness Activity.” From here, under the “Add Activity” box, add the date, type of activity, and the number of steps completed, click the “Save changes button.

If you forget your password, you can request a password reset. Select “Login” from the top navigation bar and click the “Forgotten your password?” link. Enter the email address associated with your account, and we’ll send you an email with step-by-step instructions to create a new password.
Fundraising
Funds raised through the February Step Challenge support groundbreaking research, fuel innovative health care, and help SickKids continue to deliver life-saving care for countless kids.
No, there is no fundraising minimum to participate. We’re grateful for any amount you’re able to raise.
Your goal is just that – your goal. You can increase or decrease your goal at any point throughout the challenge from your participant dashboard, and there's no penalty for not reaching them. Besides, every dollar counts when it comes to the fight for children’s health across Canada!
Expressing gratitude to your friends, family, and colleagues for their generosity is an important part of your fundraising journey. Here are two simple ways to thank your donors:
- Use the ‘Thank You’ email template available on your dashboard. You can send it directly from your dashboard or copy and paste it into your own email account.
- Share your appreciation on social media. Tag your donor and thank them publicly – it's a meaningful gesture and can inspire others to donate as well.
It’s exciting and curious to wonder who has donated anonymously, but unfortunately as the donor has chosen to remain anonymous, we are unable to share this information with you.

Once we receive the funds, we will allocate the money to your fundraising page and issue a tax receipt to the donor.
Yes, all online donations will receive an automatic tax receipt via email. To minimize administrative costs, tax receipts for offline donations will only be provided for donations of $20 or more. If you are entering a donation on someone else’s behalf, ensure you include their correct name and mailing address. If you have received funds from an event or bake sale, these would not be eligible for a tax receipt. Contact our team to process these donations.
