Three years ago began our SickKids journey...what a stressful time indeed. So interesting that none of us, myself or Tim, any of the 10 different types of doctors we saw during the month of discovering her eye was scratch thought, "she's not in any pain?" Delilah did not express pain or discomfort. Her eye just looked really red and irritated. Once at SickKids the ophthalmologist there said its very odd that shes not experiencing pain when she has a sizable scratch/injury to her cornea. This is when we found out she had no feeling and began her neurotization treatment and subsequent cornea transplant. Delilah has been through so much on this journey but we have been able to keep it a mostly positive experience where she actually enjoys driving into the big city to see the doctors. We are heading in again tomorrow morning for a check up. This month Im walking 400,000 steps in a fundraiser for the Hospital for Sick Children. They really do have the top resources for children, especially for rare conditions like Delilah's.
